Rainwater Harvesting

Our systems from major manufacturers such as Rain Harvester Ltd. allow you to collect, store, filter and use this natural resource and at the same time providing you with many benefits including:

• Cost savings for those on water meters
• Helps assist drainage
• Water can be used to replace up to around 50% your normal mains usage. Rainwater Harvesting systems provide water that is perfectly suitable for:
  - Washing clothes
  - Washing cars
  - Flushing toilets
  - Washing patios
  - Watering the garden
• Positively encouraged by local authorities, and can sometimes help with planning applications (please take appropriate advice).

As a very rough guide, depending on the part of the country you live, the amount of rainwater that can potentially be collected from the roof of a typical 3 bedroomed house ranges between approximately 24,300 litres and 64,800 litres. Solar Energy

Solar thermal heating for domestic hot water is the fastest growing renewable technology across Europe. Using radiation from the sun, a sophisticated solar collector is used to transfer the maximum amount of energy possible into a fluid which runs through the collector and which is then used to indirectly heat water in a storage cylinder.

As solar thermal technology does not rely on sunlight but on solar radiation, it can work as efficiently in our climate to provide around 50-70% of annual domestic hot water requirements.

Heat Pumps

Geothermal energy is energy obtained by trapping the heat of the earth itself. Ground Source heat pumps offer energy savings of up to 75% and use electricity to run the compressor and the controls.

Ground Source heat pumps are an excellent partner for underfloor heating and grants may be available through the Low Carbons Building programme.
